Kāpō Māori Aotearoa Logo
The central image of our logo is composed of six blue triangles, stacked from three at the bottom, two in the middle and one on the top; forming one large triangle. This impression is of a mountain, tātou maunga, it represents the many maunga of our membership and how we all connect to a maunga, referring to one's whakapapa.
Within this triangle arrangement, three more triangles are contained, inverted and seen in the white negative amongst the blue triangles. These represent the three Māori baskets of knowledge, which in Māori lore held the essence of humanity; the mind, the body and the soul.
On each side of the central triangle are mirrored kowhaiwhai ngākau, or heart shaped forms created from koru patterns. The tips of these ngākau face outwards and each represent the spectrum of our membership, with the male ngākau to the left and female ngākau to the right.
The Kapo Maori Aotearoa logo was designed with the society's principals, purpose and people in mind.
